Palacio de la Moneda
The Palacio de la Moneda is the seat of the President of the Republic and one of the most important places to visit in Santiago de Chile.
This building is steeped in history, as it was where President Salvador Allende took refuge to face the coup d’état led by the military officer Pinochet.
Today, visitors can access the interior to explore one of the city’s most significant and historic buildings.
Plaza de Armas
The Plaza de Armas is a meeting point for tourists and locals alike. In addition to being one of the most beautiful places in the city, it is home to some of its most emblematic buildings: the Post Office, the National Historical Museum, the Santiago de Chile Hall, and the Metropolitan Cathedral.
It is located in the historic center, it was built during the colonial era as a venue for celebrations, appointments and executions. Over the years, it has been enhanced with gardens and renovations of its oldest buildings.
Cerro de San Cristóbal
Located in the Bellavista neighborhood, this hill, also known as Parque Metropolitano, is one of the best things to do in Santiago de Chile, especially on clear days. Taking the funicular or cable at Plaza Caupolicán allows you to ascend the hill and enjoy fantastic views of the city surrounded by the imposing Andes Mountains.
In addition. Cerro de San Cristóbal is the largest urban park in the country, covering 700 hectares. It features a sanctuary, various hiking trails and picnic areas.
Bellavista neighborhood
Bellavista neighborhood is the bohemian and charming district of Santiago de Chile. You can stroll through its cobblestone streets filled with shops, art galleries and restaurants housed in picturesque buildings with colorful facades.
This neighborhood is also renowned for hosting some of the city’s most famous buildings, such as Castillo Lehuedé or Casa Rosa and ‘La Chascona’, the former residence of poet Pablo Neruda.

In this museum, you will learn about the true impact of Augusto Pinochet’s military dictatorship.
The purpose of this museum is to remember the past to prevent it from happening again. It displays photographs, videos, objects and testimonies from survivors of the dictatorship.
